Subnauta is a diving centre in Portimão that was designed by divers and for divers. Here you will find a committed and highly-qualified team who will make your diving experience in the Algarve even more special and unforgettable.
Our team has in-depth knowledge of the excellent diving conditions that characterise the western Algarve and they know more than 50 diving sites along the Algarve coast. With every safety detail taken care of and with complete professionalism, the Subnauta team will show you that it is possible to dive in conditions of high quality and a friendly atmosphere while maintaining balance and respect for the environment and its preservation.
Diving alongside these professionals gives you the chance to explore the best diving sites in the western Algarve. During your dive you can expect to see a variety of species and observe their behaviour on the multi-coloured seabed. You can also see the various sunken ships, steeped in history, and marvel at the biodiversity just a few miles off the coast.
As well as regular diving trips, Subnauta also offers diver training courses at different qualification levels and a wide range of scientific services for various bodies that conduct research.
Liveaboard
Weekly outings on a catamaran.
Spend between one and three nights aboard, with three to eight dives along the west coast of the Algarve.
Diving
Daily outings for two dives at two different sites.
Night diving along the Algarve coast available on request.
Training
Instructors from various training agencies and courses taught with the utmost rigour in terms of the programmes and teaching methods used by the agencies.
Underwater Geophysical Services
Qualified services in underwater geophysical surveys for environmental, archaeological and technical/scientific projects, using survey equipment that includes probes, side scan sonar, ROV and magnetometers.
Underwater Images
Qualified underwater digital photography and videography services using professional photographic and video equipment.
A wide range of equipment is available for customers’ use and image assistants are on hand to look after set-up and equipment maintenance.
Qualified staff are also available to operate the equipment during dives, if necessary.
