Quinta do Morgado da Torre

Founded in 1999, the Quinta do Morgado da Torre winery was the first to produce Algarve wines with the seal of Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC).
The excellent Algarve wines produced here are fruity and have good structure and aromas. The grapes are harvested by hand and the best varieties selected, including: Arinto; Verdelho; Antão Vaz; Sauvignon Blanc; Moscatel Galego and Síria (white varieties), Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Trincadeira, Castelão, Sousão, Alicante–Bouschet, Syrah, Cabernet–Sauvignon and Merlot (red varieties).
The vines grow on gentle south-facing slopes, where the mild influence of sea breezes is felt in the quality of the grapes.
The resulting Algarve wines clearly reveal their own distinctive personality and identity, characteristic of the Portimão region.
